The Sevenoaks Symphony Orchestra continues to go from strength the strength. Led by Catherine Smart and conducted by Darrell Davision they will open this concert with the Waverley Overture by Berlioz followed by Valse Triste by Sibelius. Yuka Ishizuka, an American-born Japanese violinist will join the orchestra to perform the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto. Yuka, who has won numerous awards and prizes, has performed at the Wigmore Hall and also worked with Itzhak Perlman. The concert will conclude with Sibelius' Symphony No. 5 in Eb major. This work is among his most popular and incorporates all the familiar Sibelian characteristics.
