The first Sevenoaks Prom will take place this September at the Stag Community Arts Centre. The evening is aimed at the over 25s and will launch a prestigious themed event which, it is hoped, will dovetail with other community-based events in the town
That Stag Community Arts Centre is delighted to announce that the inaugural Sevenoaks Prom will be launched at the Stag on Saturday September 22, 2012.
The event is designed to appeal to the over 25s and to offer a social experience unlike any other in Sevenoaks or surrounding areas. The evening will be 1950s-themed, will feature a fantastic band and other entertainment, and guests will jive the night away in period dress.
“Kent lacks high-quality, affordable events for the over 25s,” explains Tori Jordan of Cosmosity Proms, the entity behind the Sevenoaks Prom. “There are very few social dates for which couples or friends can get dressed up to attend, unless they are part of an existing society or professional group. The Sevenoaks Prom will bring with it all the magic of the finest themed events and that hint of the exclusive (those wishing to attend must register on our online guest-list) but deliver it in a community-based venue at an affordable price.”
The Sevenoaks Prom will be seasonal, featuring a different theme each time. “The Sevenoaks Prom will combine high-energy fun with a gentle introduction to ‘lost’ skills,” Tori continues. “You don’t need to be an expert in 1950s dancing to attend, because we’ll have qualified tutors on hand to offer tips and show off some simple routines. There is a generation which has totally lost many traditional skills which we want to help recover!”
“We welcome all sorts of acts and events here at the Stag,” comments Ross Ringham, Marketing Manager at the Stag. “We work very closely with groups such as the Sevenoaks and District Chamber of Commerce to produce the Sevenoaks Business Show, local artists and craftspeople to present the Sevenoaks Arts and Crafts Fair, and the Sevenoaks Summer Festival to host events and act as a Box Office. We’re an integral part of the Sevenoaks community, run for and by the Sevenoaks community. We are therefore delighted to host The Sevenoaks Prom.”
